Radcliffe admits showing up drunk on ‘Harry Potter’ set

Daniel Radcliffe recently admitted to a British magazine he often showed up drunk on the set of “Harry Potter.” “I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem. People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I don’t want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily — I mean nightly,” Radcliffe, 22, said in the recent issue of Heat.
“I can honestly say I never drank at work on ‘Harry Potter.’ I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I’m just gone. Dead behind the eyes.”
Radcliffe has previously spoken about his struggles with alcohol and in July he revealed that he had stopped drinking in August 2010, after realizing he was living a “famous person’s lifestyle.”
The young star gained worldwide fame at the age of 11 when he was cast as Harry Potter in the movies based on J.K. Rowling’s best-selling books.
