Police seek Gary man, a fugitive since 2006

Wilton Eugene Sandifer Sr., is the fugitive of the week. The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force is looking for Sandifer, who was tried and convicted in abstentia of attempted murder, arson and resisting law enforcement. He was sentenced in 2006 in Lake Superior Court 30 years in prison. Sandifer, 53, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, along with burn marks on both hands and his face. Sandifer’s last known address is in the 1300 block of Marshall Street, Gary.
