Lake Central High School Athletic Director Robin Tobias will take over as principal of the school on July 1.
Tobias, who has served as athletic director for the past two years, was approved by the board of school trustees at its Monday meeting.
Lake Central Assistant Superintendent Al Gandolfi said Tobias’ experience as a teacher, coach and administrator in the Lake Central, Munster and Plymouth districts should serve him well.
“It is a pleasure to recommend Mr. Tobias for the position of high school principal,” Gandolfi said.
“Mr. Tobias has distinguished himself in all of his former positions and is well prepared to take on the challenge of providing LC students with ever-improving academic and extracurricular programs.”
Tobias is a 1994 graduate of Lake Central High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Wabash College, and his master’s in Administration from Indiana State University. He credited his own education and experiences as a student at Lake Central as the foundation of his dedication to public education.
“This is home to me … It’s such an honor to be able to give back to LC in any way I can,” Tobias said. “I’m very excited to continue the good work with the outstanding faculty and staff of Lake Central High School.”
