PORTAGE — A 29-year-old Portage man died after a Tuesday night motorcycle crash at U.S. 20 and Old Porter Road.
Porter County Chief Deputy Coroner Bob Byrd said Jorge Flores died from blunt force trauma after his motorcycle struck a guardrail on the north side of U.S. 20.
Byrd said Flores was pronounced dead at 2:21 a.m. Wednesday at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso.
Portage Police spokesman Sgt. Keith Hughes said the crash happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday. “He was apparently speeding and lost control and crashed into the guardrail,” Hughes said. Flores wasn’t wearing a helmet, Hughes said.
Police said the crash is still under investigation. Byrd said no autopsy would be done, but toxicology testing would be done.
