A Hammond man will serve at least 17 years in prison if a federal judge accepts his plea agreement on a child pornography charge.
The agreement, which was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Hammond, says that Adam William Buckler, 28, faces a minimum of five years in prison but agrees to a sentencing range of 210 months to 262 months.
In exchange, the government will drop a charge of activities related to child pornography.
Buckler was arrested a year ago after an FBI agent discovered Buckler’s photo on a file-sharing network was of a boy wearing underwear.
The undercover agent contacted Buckler, who then sent the man his password. The agent discovered four videos and 77 images of children ages 3 to 9 in sexually explicit situations.
When the FBI raided his house in October 2011, they found at least 1,000 pictures and more than 100 videos on his laptop.
A change of plea hearing will take place Nov. 30.
