A 24-year-old Chicago man was killed when he was shot Saturday night at a Miller apartment complex.
Around 11:15 p.m., Terrance Thompson was shot in the hallway of a Woodlake Village Apartment building — in the 500 block of South Vigo Place — after a verbal altercation with three men. Police found him outside in a grassy area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition, a 16-year-old girl was struck in the abdomen while standing in the hallway and a 10-year old boy was shot in the hand when a bullet came through a door. They were transported to Methodist Hospitals Northlake for treatment. Both are residents of the complex.
Earlier in the evening, a 15-year-old Chicago boy was shot while standing outside a home in the 500 block of Kentucky Street. Around 5 p.m., police received a call about a disturbance between people at that address. The teen was shot once in the buttocks/hip area and he was transported to Methodist Hospitals Northlake for treatment.
Gary Police are seeking the identity of the three men that had the initial altercation with Thompson and any details from the second case. Anyone with information can call Cpl. Ed Gonzalez at 881-4750.
