Griffith police raid home of alleged pot dealer

Griffith police arrested a woman who faces dealing charges during an early morning raid Thursday.
Carcitia Promise, 25, faces two counts of dealing in marijuana and one count of maintaining a common nuisance after an undercover buy of about 63 grams of marijuana at her apartment at 820 N. Wheeler. The most serious of the charges is punishable by a sentence of two to eight years.
Geneva Coleman, 24, also was arrested at the apartment.
The Lake Station police narcotics unit and the Northwest Regional SWAT team assisted in the arrests.
Interim Police Chief Matthew Moore said he anticipates charges will be filed by the Lake County prosecutor’s office by Friday afternoon.
