Pair shot by three men Sunday night in Gary

GARY — Two men were shot late Sunday night in the 400 block of Polk Street after they told three men who approached them asking for money they did not have any, according to Gary Police.
The two men, 35 and 22, reported they were walking westbound on Fourth Avenue approaching Polk Street when they observed the three black males wearing all black cross the street to approach them. One of the victims was asked if he had any money and when he said no they started shooting at them.
Both victims were transported to a local emergency room for treatment of their injuries.
