VALPARAISO -- A man who saw his wife’s car outside another man’s home faces charges for allegedly walking in on the naked pair and beating them.
The 47-year-old woman’s 43-year-old boyfriend told police that Juan Esquivel-Reyes, 47, of Shorewood Forest, knocked at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday. When no one answered, Esquivel-Reyes allegedly walked in the unlocked door of the condo in the 1300 block of Winding Ridge Road, found the two in bed and started kicking and punching the woman. The man pulled Esquivel-Reyes off her, and Esquivel-Reyes then turned to him, kicking, punching and scratching until he left the condo, according to the police report.
The woman insisted nothing happened and only reluctantly gave police her husband’s information. When officers found Esquivel-Reyes at home, he reportedly admitted entering the residence uninvited but denied attacking anyone.
Esquivel-Reyes was arrested at 7:30 p.m. for felony residential entry, misdemeanor battery causing injury and misdemeanor domestic battery.
