Elderly man killed in Griffith home fire

A Griffith man died early Thursday morning after his house caught fire, according to the Griffith Police Department.
Maurice Campbell, 74, of 423 N. Arbogast St., was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m., according to the Lake County Coroner’s office, although the exact cause of death is still pending.
Detective Lt. Matt Argadine said that Campbell couldn’t leave his house after the fire started. No one else was injured and there are no signs of foul play, Argadine said.
