Two Chicago men have been arrested in connection with armed robberies in Schererville and LaPorte, according to Schererville police.
Marcus Sharod Harris, 19, and Daniel T. Wright, 27, were arrested earlier this month after fleeing from police in LaPorte. The men confessed to police that they robbed the T-Mobile Cellular in Schererville and a Sprint store in Addison, Ill.
Schererville police say the men entered the T-Mobile Store at 1150 U.S. 41 on Jan. 28, locked the doors and ordered customers and employees at gunpoint to the back of the store. Wright stashed cell phones in a bag while Harris held the gun on everyone else. They left through the back of the store, where their car was parked.
Police believe the men committed other similar robberies in Indiana and Illinois. Any one with information can call Schererville Detective Cpl. Jeff Cook at 322-5000.
