DeMotte man, 41, killed in Lowell accident

A DeMotte man was killed in a Monday afternoon car crash in Lowell.
Todd A. Middleton, 41, sustained blunt force trauma in the crash, which occurred at 181st Avenue and Grand Boulevard around 3:19 p.m. Middleton was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:45 p.m.
The Lake County Traffic Investigation Unit determined that Middleton was driving his 1999 Pontiac Sunfire west on East 181st Avenue (Indiana 2) when his car veered left of the center line, striking a 2008 Ford F150 driven by Dale Swart, 49, of DeMotte.
Swart was injured and transported to Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point.
