Arrest in Gary man’s 1983 prison murder

Indiana State Police detectives have made an arrest in the 30-year-old prison killing of a Gary man.
Police received information that led to the Tuesday arrest of Paul D. Stucker, 52. Stucker, of Scottsburg, is being held at the Jefferson Parrish Sheriff’s Department Jail in Gretna, La. He’s awaiting extradition to Indiana.
Police said Stucker was an inmate at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City when the murder occurred Oct. 19, 1983.
Hodge, 34, was serving a life sentence for a double murder in Gary in 1977. A drug gang leader, Hodge was convicted of killing Bobby Fisher and Percy McFarland.
The U.S. Marshalls and Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force were instrumental in the arrest.
