North Judson places 6th in national Academic Decathlon

Updated: May 6, 2013 8:39PM

NORTH JUDSON — In their first time competing in the Online Academic Decathlon national competition, the North Judson High School team finished sixth among 14 teams from across the United States.

Jonathon Hileman was the top scorer for the Bluejays.

North Judson coach Sheila Akers said it’s difficult to compete against some teams. “Academic Decathlon in Indiana is an extra-curricular activity. In many states, including the ones that scored above us, they can have an Academic Decathlon class during school hours. So our students did an amazing job.”
