A Gary man sustained severe head and facial injuries after a motorcycle accident Saturday night.
The Indiana State Police reports Cecil Roach, 43, was driving westbound on Interstate 94 at a high rate of speed at about 7:31 p.m. Saturday when he collided with Douglas Williams, 43, of Plainfield, Ill., near the 35-mile mark. Williams was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban.
Roach, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, struck the Suburban’s rear, and the impact ejected him from the Honda BR6 Honda motorcycle he was driving. He landed on the road.
Roach was airlifted by helicopter airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Williams was not injured.
This crash is still under investigation.
