Man arrested in fight at wake
Brandon Creech, 27, of Knox, was arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor disorderly conduct during a wake at Bartholomew Funeral Home, at 102 Monroe St. Police said that at 6:17 p.m., they found Creech shirtless and punching the window of a pickup in the alley adjacent to the funeral home. The 24-year-old Schererville man in the truck told police he and his girlfriend were arguing because he wanted to leave and she didn’t. Other attendees, including Creech, intervened and followed him outside to his pickup. The truck’s owner had been told by several people to leave the funeral for reportedly making disparaging remarks about the deceased, according to the police report.
TV stolen from unlocked home
An unlocked home was burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 south block of County Road 725W, just east of Lakes of the Four Seasons. A 50-inch plasma TV was missing.
