Gary man gets three years for receiving stolen auto parts

A Gary man was sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison for receiving stolen auto parts.
Cameron Emil Dotson, 36, was pulled over on Dec. 23 at 37th Avenue and Colbourne Street in Hobart. When the officer ran a record check on the license plate on the silver Dodge Intrepid, it came back “not on file.” The officer discovered the vehicle identification number on the door jamb, which didn’t match the VIN on the dash, had been reported stolen to Harvey, Ill., police eight days earlier.
