A 75-year-old Gary man was found dead Saturday afternoon in his Glen Park home.

Zan Davenport Jr. suffered blunt force trauma injuries in an apparent homicide, according to a release by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

Detective James Bond said around 4:45 p.m. police were dispatched on report of a man down in the 100 block of E. 53rd Avenue. When police arrived, they found Davenport inside the house and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bond didn’t give any details about what weapon or method may have caused Davenport’s death. He said there were no signs of forced entry.

Police don’t have anyone in custody at the moment. Bond and Det. Lorenzo Davis are handling the case.

Anyone with information on the case can call Bond at 881-4751.
