An East Chicago man was found shot to death Friday.
East Chicago Deputy Chief John Verbich said he was called to the 3500 block of Block Street at around 3:30 a.m., where officers were responding to a shooting. James Currie, 40, of the 3400 block of Guthrie Street, was found in the house.
Currie sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and the death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Lake County Coroner’s office.
Officers canvassed the area and are still working on the case, Verbich said. The Lake County CSI unit is assisting with the investigation.
