Arrest made in connection with Ind. double slaying

WESTFIELD, Ind. (AP) — Central Indiana police have arrested an Indianapolis man in connection with the home-invasion killings of a woman and her adult daughter.

Twenty-year-old Christian Rene Haley faces murder, robbery, burglary and other charges in the slayings of 52-year-old Marylyn Erb and 23-year-old Kelley Erb. They were found fatally beaten Dec. 20 in their home in the north suburban Indianapolis town of Westfield.

Westfield police spokesman Charles Hollowell told WISH-TV Haley was a former employee of Marylyn’s husband. He said numerous tips led investigators to Haley, who’s being held at the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville.

Haley isn’t the same man police were seeking Sunday when they released store surveillance footage of a man wearing sunglasses. That man has been questioned by police, but he hasn’t been identified of charged.
