HAMMOND — A man who was shot to death Wednesday in his apartment building has been identified, the Lake County coroner’s office said Thursday.

The victim, identified as Yueh-Ju Wu, 26, was shot several times about 4:40 p.m. in the building at 7009 Magoun St., Police Chief Brian Miller said.

“We believe narcotics was the motive,” Miller said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Community Hospital in Munster at 6:40 p.m.

No suspects are in custody, Miller said, adding that anyone with information should call the detective bureau at 852-2906.
