VALPARAISO – On Friday, residents helped police locate Troy Donnelly.
Donnelly’s parents reported the Valparaiso man missing Tuesday, and there was special concern over the 50-year-old’s physical and mental health.
Police said a couple people saw Donnelly walking at 11:15 a.m. Friday in the area of Silhavy and Evans roads, and they recognized him from photos in print and social media. Donnelly was transported to Porter Hospital for assessment and treatment.
In a press release, Valparaiso Police Chief Michael Brickner thanked those who contacted police and helped Donnelly until officers arrived at the scene. “This is a great example of community members seeing the police alerts, getting involved and helping an individual when someone needed the help,” he said.
