St. John Kmart closing April 8

ST. JOHN — The Kmart store here will close its doors on April 8, the same day the Super Kmart on U.S. 6 in Portage shuts down.
Sears Holdings has notified the state of its plan to close the store at 9550 Wicker Ave. The company said the terminations of 62 employees is expected over a 14-day period beginning April 1.
About 209 workers will lose their jobs at the Portage store. The stores are among about 80 Kmarts closing nationwide to raise cash for Sears Holdings.
