ATLANTA — Home Depot said Wednesday it will hire more than 80,000 seasonal workers for this year’s spring selling season — up from about 70,000 a year ago. It cited expectations of sales growth.
The Atlanta-based home improvement retailer said that spring is its busiest hiring and selling season, similar to the winter holiday season at other retailers.
Home Depot (HD) said the jobs include both part-time and full-time positions and are available on a market-by-market basis based on individual store needs and geographical variance in climate.
Home Depot shares were down 0.3% in premarket trading Wednesday. At $66.20, the stock is less than $2 off its 52-week high.
