INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Developers and opponents of deal for a state agency to resell gas from a proposed $2.6 billion plant in the Ohio River city of Rockport that would turn coal into synthetic gas to Hoosiers want the Indiana Supreme Court to review the deal.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports the request comes as legislation related to the deal winds through the Statehouse.
Developers want the justices to confirm that the contract is final. Opponents led by Vectren Corp., want the high court to strike down the deal. The Court of Appeals has reversed regulatory approval but declined to review the deal.
If the Supreme Court overturns the deal, a bill set for a committee hearing Wednesday would restart the process.
