The Crossroads Chamber of Commerce is expecting over 10,000 people to visit downtown Crown Point during this summer’s Hometown Festival Days.

This year, Festival Days will kick-off on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 with an expanded Corn Roast. The hours will be 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and 12 to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The street celebration will include live music, a larger children’s play area and food and beverages inlcuding the Shriner’s roasted corn.

On Monday, June 18, the Hub Dollie Parade will take place at 11 a.m., starting at the bottom of the east steps of the old Lake County Courthouse. Children are invited to bring their best-dressed dolls and carriages for a parade around the courthouse.

The Taste of the Region and Arts & Crafts Festival return Friday, June 22, through Sunday, June 24. The activities will be combined this year and expanded. Hours on Friday and Saturday are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Plans call for the entire Crown Point square to be closed down to make room for over 45 restaurants and food vendors and over 80 arts and crafts exhibitors.

Also, on Friday, June 22, the traditional Marriage Mill celebration will take place. One couple will have the opportunity to get married that evening on the old courthouse steps and other couples can renew their marriage vows following the ceremony.
