At approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, a Crown Point school bus drove into the parkway at the southwest corner of Indiana Avenue and Burrell Drive.
According to Assistant Police Chief Jim Janda, there were children on the bus. There were no injuries.
According the a school administration staff member, the driver turned westbound on Burrell Drive from Indiana Avenue but realized due to rain and darkness, the bus was turning too wide. “In order to avoid cars stopped at the stoplight on Burrell Ave, the bus went into the surrounding grass and mud.”
