Fajman asks for Gunning and Wieser as attorneys

CROWN POINT — In her first meeting before the Lake County Commissioners on Jan. 16 Michelle Fajman, director of the Lake County Board of Elections and Registration, asked for the annual appointment of attorneys for the board.
Fajman asked and receive approval for consulting contracts between the attorneys and the commissioners. James L. Wieser is renewed for board attorney at a cost of $90 per hour. Also at the same rate
was Jeffrey F. Gunning as assistant board attorney. Each contract is a not to exceed $22,500 per year.
On Jan. 15, the election board dismissed a complaint against the political action committee “Friends of Lake Central” by Joe Hero and Richard J. Hucker.
This complaint was first filed on June 4, 2012, when the complainants alleged that the Friends received in-kind personal services from employees of the Lake Central School Corp. on school time.
