CROWN POINT — Mike Adams, aka the Hot Dog Man, is back. He will again have his stands at the corners of Joliet and East streets and on the square. He will have the corner along Main and Joliet streets outside of the old courthouse.
According to Adams, 2012 was a very good year for business. Weather permitting he will be selling hot-dogs from through Dec. 31. This was approved last week by the Board of Public Works and Safety.
He also told the board members that the vendor had been selling hot dogs on the northwest corner of the square at Clark and Court streets is moving her business to Hebron.
Adams will have to come back before the board for his next project. He wants to put a snow cone and Italian ice cart on that northwest corner.
Adams would also like to be open 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights from Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.
When the Shriner’s come in with their Vidalia onion sales, Adams said that they worked out space issues last year. The Shriners will be on the Joliet side of the southeast corner of the square.
According to Mayor Dave Uran, when there are special events on the square all vendors will be told that the hot dog man’s space is reserved for him and he will not be charged as that event’s other venders.
