CROWN POINT — The Lake County Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Randy Palmateer of Crown Point to the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority at the April 3 commissioners meeting. This is a joint appointment of the commissioners and the Lake County Council.
Palmateer is business manager of the Building Trades Association. He also sits on the Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety.
According to John Dull, attorney for the commissioners, the appointment needs three votes from the commissioners and three votes from the council and it is done.
The RDA was established in 2005. It is a quasi-governmental development board with members appointed by county and municipal elected officials.
The board makes economic development decisions in a regional framework for infrastructure projects.
