Volunteers added to CP fire-rescue squadron

Updated: August 20, 2013 12:38PM

CROWN POINT — With an ever increasing need for volunteers, Fire Chief Greg DeLor asked for and was granted permission to add three new volunteer firefighters to the roster. They are Jacob Faso, Adam Isailovich and Joshua Lethco.

DeLor said, “They have all successfully completed the Indiana Firefighter I/II physical agility and medical physicals.”

While the city does have a staff of full-time professional firefighters, the Crown Point Volunteer Fire Fighters, Inc. supply that extra level of security for the residents and business owners in the city. The full time roster includes enough staff to be able to take one fire engine and two Advance Life Support ambulances out of the fire house to answer a call. That brings the first engine to a scene. Back at the station a call has gone out for volunteers to man the station for other calls or to bring more equipment the fire.
