Local men took a swing for helping kids at the Salvation Army’s 10th annual Hope Fore Kids Golf Classic at the Glen Club in Glenview, Ill. on Sept. 3.
This event had 128 golfers from all over the Chicago metropolitan area including five from Northwest Indiana. Greg Chidsey from Crown Point was in a foursome that included Mike Pryszcz from St. John and two golfers from the Chicago suburbs, Richard Crabill of Naperville and Randy Rein of Orland Park.
Joining the festivities and playing together in a foursome, Paul Wellman of Crown Point was joined by Ed Seghers of Schererville and Frank Keilman of St. John, as well as Chicagoan Eric Keilman.
The event raised more than $200,000 to help the Salvation Army’s youth programs.
The tournament included a full day of activities, starting with a golf clinic hosted by professional golfers, followed by lunch and golf. Like most tournaments there were also a variety of contests and prizes, with a reception and dinner that included a live auction and award program.
