CROWN POINT — Center Township Trustee Paul Bremer continued a holiday tradition by calling neighboring townships to join him in collecting dinners for the needy from Jewel Foods in Crown Point.

The 58 ham dinners were split among Center, Hanover and Winfield townships.

Barb Bielec, Jewel service manager continued to be proud her cashiers who worked hard to help raise the funds to help defray the cost of feeding the needy.

Store manager Edward Esboldt said, “We raised more than the majority from our size of store. We outperformed everybody.”

Proportionally Crown Point dug deeper in their pockets to help their neighbors than any other store.
