Crossroads Chamber honors top members

The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual Holiday Installation and Awards Luncheon on Dec. 13 at Avalon Manor in Merrillville.
Awards were given in the following categories: Landscape and Architectural, Chairman of the Board, Distinguished Service Award, Ambassador of the Year, and the Board of Director’s Service Award.
Receiving the 2013 Landscape and Architectural Awards were Bapple & Bapple, Inc. CPA’s, Centier Bank-Crown Point, City of Crown Point Sportsplex, and Lake County Public Library.
The 2013 Chairman of the Board Recipients included Kelly Dooley with Nightingale Home Health Care, Shirley Dunn with Allstate Insurance, attorney Kent Jeffirs, Shawn Pettit with the Town of Merrillville, Michael White with Indiana Wesleyan University, and Mary Wright with Horizon Bank.
The 2013 Distinguished Service Award was presented to Skip Bosak of Bosak Chrysler Jeep Dodge.
The 2013 Ambassador of the Year award was accepted by Trudy Tarpo with St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church.
Outgoing board members were presented with the 2013 Board of Director Service Awards. Recipients included Karen Orosz of Ivy Tech Community College Northwest and Andrew Kyres of First Financial Bank.
The chamber has membership of 700 businesses and 1,400 representatives. Its office is located at 255 W. 80th Place in Merrillville.
