Visclosky schedules 19 public forums in Jan. in first district communities

U.S. Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville, has scheduled 19 public forums in Jan. in communities throughout the first district.

Visclosky will provide an update on issues impacting the regiona and country, and answer constituents’ questions.

“Northwest Indiana and the country are faced with many opportunities, including the opportunity to create good-paying jobs through infrastructure investments,” he said.

Local students will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and introduce Visclosky to their communities at each forum.

Friday, Jan. 3, 2014

10 a.m.: Dyer Town Hall, 1 Town Square, Dyer

12 p.m.: Munster Town Hall, 1005 Ridge Road

2 p.m.: Purdue University Calumet, Room with a View, 2200 169th St., Hammond

4 p.m.: Lincoln Center, 2450 Lincoln St., Room 108 and 109, Highland

6 p.m.: Griffith Town Hall, 111 North Broad St.

Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014

10 a.m.: Valparaiso City Hall, 166 Lincolnway. An interpreter for the deaf will be present.

12 p.m.: Portage City Hall, 6070 Central Ave.

2 p.m.: Michigan City-City Hall, 100 East Michigan Blvd.

4 p.m.: Westchester Public Library Service Center, 100 West Indiana Ave., Chesterton

6 p.m.: American Legion, Miller Dunes Post 27, 6601 Hobart Road, Gary

4 p.m.: Crown Point Civic Center, 101 South East St.
