C.P. business club is state-bound

The Business Professionals of America chapter at Crown Point High School has qualified to compete in the State Leadership Conference to be held in Indianapolis March 16 through 18.
The chapter competed Jan. 18 at the District Leadership Conference competition at Portage High School. Students with the top scores in each event progress to the state leadership competition where over 2,000 BPA student members will compete.
“BPA is the perfect competitive arena to prepare students for the business world,” said advisor Mary Bachnak.
She said this year was the first time all of Crown Point’s BPA members qualified for the state competition.
Qualifying students are Mike Hillyard in Fundamental Accounting; Kyle Venditti in Banking & Finance; Freddie Nino in Economic Research Individual; Zachary Gordon in Graphic Design Promotion; Ben Jasek in Digital Publishing InDesign and Prepared Speech; Kelsea Costello, Bayan Fares, and Madison McKendry in Interview Skills; Freddie Nino, Bayan Fares, Madison McKendry, and Allison Okeley in Video Production Team; Mike Hillyard, Shelby Kiger, and Ashley Wortel in Global Marketing; Andre Hatami, Christopher Mirabella, and Jamie Cocking in Small Business Management Team, Kelsea Costello, Rylee Ballard, and Mollie Bates in Administrative Support Team; Rhythm Dhillon, Zachary Gordon, Nick Grothaus, and Claire Olah in Presentation Management Team.
