Lucky winners net foundation grants

CROWN POINT — At the end of the Crown Point Community Foundation’s recent open house at its new offices three $500 awards were presented to winners of a grant drawing.
Visitors to the open house had the opportunity to nominate their favorite charity.
Winners of the three $500 grants were: The Crown Point Adult Learning Center, nominated by Bruce Borowski; St. Matthias Food Pantry, nominated by Trudy Tarpo; and the Northwest Indiana Special Education Cooperative, nominated by Mary Jo Melder.
Charities could be nominated by as many persons as wanted to nominate the, but were only eligible for one award.
The foundation is now located at 115 S. Court St., just north of the Chase bank.
