Starving college student Blake Zolfo will return to the Towle Community Theater in Hammond for his second solo cabaret at 8 p.m. Aug. 10.
While most students take on part-time jobs, the Crown Point High School graduate decided to take advantage of his theatrical background and connections to help make paying for college easier.
Last summer, he partnered with the Towle Theater to produce his scholarship cabaret, “An Evening with Blake Zolfo.” And, after a year at the Boston Conservatory, he has been given the green light to produce another cabaret, titled “Blake by the Year.”
The one-night-only show is directed by Joyee Lin, and Cam Moncur will act as musical director.
Zolfo has performed as a vocalist for the Women’s Association of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Society and in the NWI Symphony’s Summer Concert Series. For the August cabaret, Blake will capture college life and his own personal collegiate adventure through story, song and dance.
The Towle Theater is at 5205 Hohman Ave. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.blakezolfo.com. To make phone reservations, call the box office at 937-8780.
