Bouncy house, Touch a Truck, family games, giant Twister game, family crafts, face painting and kite flying, (attendees should bring their own kites), refreshments for a small fee, favorite lemonade contest (call to register)

Northwest Indiana Symphony’s free South Shore Summer Music Festival for which attendees can bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating

Taltree Arboretum & Gardens hosts national tribute bands playing favorite hits during this summer concert series sponsored by HighTower Scannell Wealth Management, Cathy Hodges Memorial Fund, Martin Security Systems and Ricci’s Landscape Management Inc.
♦ Aug. 9: American English (showcases the best of the Beatles’ career from 1963-1970) along with the raffling of a Fender Stratocaster guitar that was used extensively by John Lennon and George Harrison through the recording of the Beatles “Rubber Soul” album and when they played the guitar solo in unison on “Nowhere Man”
♦ Aug. 30: Marrakesh Express (a widely acclaimed Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band) takes listeners back to the 1960s with classic hits like “Southern Cross” and “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes”
Details: All concerts start at 6:30 p.m. with gates at 5:30 p.m. and will take place, rain or shine, at Taltree Arboretum & Gardens, 450 W. County Road 100 N, Valparaiso
