The Valparaiso Theatrical Company will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with its production of “Specter of Treason — The Oswald Trial.”
Written by J.E. Ballantyne Jr., “Specter of Treason” imagines a past in which Lee Harvey Oswald survives the shooting by Jack Ruby and goes on trial for the JFK assassination in a Dallas federal courtroom.
With a script that features more than 50 characters, this drama brings the trial to life on stage with the audience as the jury who gets to render the final verdict on Oswald’s guilt or innocence.
Ballantyne has written four endings that are dependent on the audience’s verdict.
Directed by Craig Kozora and Steve Zana, the cast includes Bev Adkins, Amy Aurelio, Larry Bingham, Matt Byerly, Tom Byerly, Vickie Cash, JoBeth Cruz and Joe Culley.
Linda Didelot, Chloe Hoeksema, Jerry Jascoviak, Michael “Doc” Kuhn, George Maslankowski, Eric McCann, Mark McColly and William Milhans and Joel Palachak are also in the cast.
Other cast members include Mike Porter, Nick Russ, Rhonda Russ, Steven Collings Russell, Tim Slatton, Candice Smith, Jen Stevens, Pam Tschida, Nelson Velazquez, Bob Wichlinski and Mike Zelisko.
“Specter of Treason — The Oswald Trial” will run from Nov. 14-24 at First Presbyterian Church of Valparaiso, 3401 Valparaiso St., Valparaiso.
