Community corn roast

Join the fun at the Community Corn Roast at Community Hospital Outpatient Centre, 9660 Wicker Ave., St. John, with vendor booths, DJ music, hula-hoop contest, Zumba demonstration and more. Admission is $8 per person.

Concert and film

A free concert and family film begins at 7 p.m. with music by The Pinhook Bogtrotters followed at 8 p.m. by the PG-rated movie “The Adventures of Tintin,” at the Thomas Park bandstand in downtown Chesterton. Golf outing benefit

The Fraternal Order of Eagles 2659 annual Golf Outing begins South Shore Country Club, 14400 South Shore Drive, Cedar Lake. The $65 fee includes cart, greens fee, lunch drink tickets and hog roast dinner at the Eagles Club. Proceeds fund scholarships in memory of Spc. Nicholas R. Idalski.

White Beach Party

Miller Beach White Party is at the Aquatorium, in Gary, with live entertainment, slide shows, dancing and open bars. White attire is requested. The cost is $35 per person at the door and proceeds will help fund improvements for the Miller Beach area.
