FALL FAMILY FUN FAIR
Hosted by the Home and School Association, this event features food, games for all ages, raffles, karaoke, drinks and a full hog roast dinner
Details: 5-9 p.m. Oct. 4 at St. Mary Catholic Community School, 405 E. Joliet St., Crown Point
Cost, $10 for adult dinner or $6 for seniors and ages 12 and younger; $15 wristbands allow each child unlimited access to bounce houses, a double slide obstacle course and a Spinning Pumpkin ride
Presented by the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce, the fourth annual Oktoberfest features a chili cook-off, apple-pumpkin bake-off, food vendors, live entertainment, a barbecue showdown, arts and crafts, a KidZone with games and rides, hayrides, a Brier Garten and Root Brier Float Garten.

CROWN POINT OKTOBERFEST
This sixth annual event includes food, festivities, fun for all ages, a pie-eating contest, a chili cook-off, live music and a beanbag tournament
Details: 3-11 p.m. Oct. 5 on South Main Street in Crown Point
RED HATTER’S PUTTING ON THE RITZ
The seventh annual Red and Purple Ball, sponsored by Bea’s Classy Ladies United Chapter 6053 of the Red Hat Society and the Gentlemen of Distinction, features dancing, dining and live entertainment
Details: 6-10 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Chateau Banquet Hall, 530 W. 61st Ave., Merrillville
