The Chicago Street Theatre will present the latest work by resident playwright Jim Henry, running May 25-June 9.

Directed by Traci Brant and Jonni Pera, “Brother of All” follows Leonard Street as he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation as a result of a shocking family tragedy.

The cast features Jordan Chaddock, Tim Gleason, Josh Eggleston, Caroline Rau Geldernick and Grant Fitch.

The Chicago Street Theatre is located at 154 W. Chicago St., Valparaiso. Call 464-1636 for reservations.

‘Oklahoma!’

The Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso brings the classic American musical “Oklahoma!” to the stage June 1-10.

Directed by Colleen Archer and John Peluso, the play features a cast that includes Jeff DeBoer, Mary Herrod, Zach Gipson, Christina Reed, Chris Cavin, Dan Azar, Mary Fridh, Andrea Bertsch, Bob Penney, Scot MacDonald, Michael Pals and Michael Ohm.

The Memorial Opera House is located at 104 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso. Call 548-9137 for reservations.

‘Avenue Q’

At the other end of the musical theater spectrum, Dunes Summer Theatre will open its season with the hilarious and witty musical “Avenue Q” running June 8-24.

“Sesame Street” meets “Rent” in this puppet-based musical that skewers bohemian lifestyles, the 20-something generation’s angst and lack of direction, and our modern society in general.

Directed by Lisa Lake, with musical direction by Jim Mollen, the cast includes Melanie May, Michael Glorioso, Andy Polomchak, Trish Sabocik, Trinidad Snider, Jeff Schmidt, Rachel Steigely and Erik Helmken.

The Dunes Summer Theatre is located at 288 Shady Oak Drive, Michiana Shores, off U.S. 12. Call 879-7509 for reservations or more information.

‘Over the River’

Portage Community Theatre will present the play “Over the River and through the Woods” June 8-23 at the Portage Yacht Club.

Directed by Stanlee Hodsden, the cast includes Earl Howe, LuAnne Pezel, Kathy Rosdil, Kevin Doler, Adrian Brizzolara and Dean Perrine.

This will be the final production at the Portage Yacht Club for the Portage Community Theatre. The group announced earlier this month that “it will suspend the remainder of its 2012 season, effective immediately after” “Over the River and through the Woods.” The show will be the last show of the 2012 season. The PCT Summer Theatre Camps, held jointly with the Portage Parks Department, have also been suspended.
