Girls: Are you interested in becoming an attorney or even a medical doctor, but you feel these fields are dominated by men and that your chances to succeed in these fields are slim? Federal statistics released show that females earn the majority of degrees in business, biological sciences, social science and history and are earning a larger number of degrees in math, agriculture and physical sciences. Females now account for nearly half the enrollment in professional programs such as law, optometry and medicine. The number of females in undergraduate classes is growing at a faster rate than the number of males. Females now outnumber males in several universities and colleges.
If you are still undecided about attending college after high school, now may be a good time to consider it. The professional opportunities for females are the best ever and may be even better in the future. Take advantage of this long overdue opportunity. You have earned it.
