Jillian Michaels has big plans for you at Chicago tour stop
While it may sound like a contradiction, Jillian Michaels wants you to live large.
And that’s no small feat, which is why Michaels — probably best known as the fireball trainer on “The Biggest Loser” — has taken her motivational message to live your best life on the road. Since early April, she and her family — which now includes two toddlers — have been on a bus crisscrossing Canada and the United States for Michaels’ first speaking tour, Maximize Your Life.
Michaels’ reason for hitting the highways is to get you to “follow your passions,” whatever they may be: weight loss, fulfilling career, love. And that’s something she knows too many of us aren’t doing. Yet, “the reality is, we can,” Michaels said during a recent phone interview.
Now, if you’re thinking you’re going to go, sit back and listen while Michaels speaks, get over that. (Hey, you’ve seen her on “Biggest Loser.” Does Michaels ever let anyone just chill? I don’t think so.) Be prepared to be involved, says the author of the recently released “Slim for Life.”
LED screens loaded with information will be part of the Maximize presentation. “It’s going to be interactive,” said Michaels. “I could jump down and ask you five questions. Someone’s going to be onstage.”
That someone could be you. Be ready!
Those planning to attend are encouraged to submit details about their particular situation to www.Jillian
Michaels.com and they could become part of the Chicago show.
Michaels has good reasons why she’s not doing two hours of a sit-back-and-listen event. She wants people to zero in on what exactly their goals are and to figure out how they’re going to get there. Saying “I want to be happy” isn’t gonna cut it.
“If someone asked you where you’re going on vacation, you wouldn’t say northeast,” she reasoned. “You’d have a plan.”
But before you develop a plan you need to be informed. (“Action without information is disastrous,” she said.) And that’s where Michaels comes in. “We’re equipping them with the tools and information to give them the results they desire.”
Maximize Your Life really is a journey of self-discovery, and sometimes there’s pain in confronting past demons. Michaels wants to take your past “negative pattern” and “blow it up.”
“We all have the potential,” she said. “We are giving them the information to be successful.”
Successful to the max, of course. Jillian Michaels wouldn’t have it any other way.
