Chesterton on a roll

Chesterton has been one of the hottest teams in the area, winning its last seven conference games.

“We’ve had really solid pitching, really outstanding defensive play and timely hitting. All those things a coach lives for,” coach Jack Campbell said.

“It’s been different people. Our top two pitchers, Aery Pratt and Mitch Kobitz, have really thrown the ball well. And other (pitchers) have contributed, like Dallas Milligan and Matt Kubacki.”

Chesterton is 12-4 overall and 7-1 in the DAC.

“Andrew Ralph is hitting well over .400 (.476). Austin Vander Zanden and Pratt have done a great job at the plate also,” Campbell said. “Mike Griffin has had some big hits and big plays at second base. Corey Rusboldt at short. Jordan Morandini probably leads the league in sacrifice bunts and Tyler Sufana, they’ve all done a nice job. And our catcher Mike Crowley has provided leadership.”
