Bowling: GCABA elects three new hall of fame members
Last month the Greater Calumet Area Bowling Association elected three new members to its hall of fame to be inducted at the 27th annual association banquet in December at Dynasty Banquets in Hammond.
Two-time Post-Tribune Tournament champion Kathi Tucker of St. John and John Dudak of Orland Park, Ill., were inducted in the performance category, while Claude Jackson of Highland will be inducted for meritorious service.
Tucker has three 800 series and two Pepsi Individual Classic titles. Dudak has nine 800 series — three of them consecutively during the 2010-11 season at Lan-Oak Lanes — and 19 perfect games to his credit. Jackson has been a longtime GCABA board member who was also the Highland High School bowling coach for 14 years.
Proprietor’s Cup tour: The region’s tournament center, Stardust Bowl III, will be hosting another lucrative one this weekend. The Proprietor’s Cup Bowling Tour satellite event will take place at noon on Saturday.
The format is a five-game qualifier at $70 per bowler with the top five advancing to a stepladder final. One out of every 10 entrants can earn a $550 entry into the Proprietor’s Cup III on Nov. 23-24 in Beavercreek, Ohio. For more details, contact Blake Mushen at email@example.com or call Shaun Ciesielski at 322-3666.
40-Frame Game tourney: Stardust III’s annual 40-Frame Game event is still going through Labor Day. First place is $1,000 based on previous years’ entries of 461. The cost is $30 per bowler with extra sidepots and handicap based on 392 percent of 210 (98 percent of 210 times four). For more details, call Shaun at 322-3666.
