MELLOTT — An Indiana woman whose dog vanished when a tornado hit her family’s home says she can’t believe the person who later adopted the lost canine from an animal shelter won’t give him back.

The Robinson family’s beloved dog, Rosco, vanished Nov. 17 when a tornado badly damaged the family’s home in the small Fountain County town of Mellott.

Days later, Rosco was found wandering without tags about 45 miles away. He was brought to the Clinton County Humane Society, where a woman adopted him.

Kyla Robinson told the Journal and Courier newspaper of Lafayette that she’s working with an attorney in hopes of getting Rosco back.

She said her 10-year-old daughter, Madison, still cries about Rosco. Robinson said her daughter hopes “these people will have a heart and give him back.”
