Angels cheer squad wins title, seeks members
In mid-season form and with a large first-place trophy to call their own, the All-Star Angels mini cheer squad has put out the call for additional team members.
The Wheeler-based cheer team competed in the JamFest at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis on Nov. 17. There the Angels earned top honors and hardware in the best choreography category.
Directors at Indiana Elite Gymnastics (formerly Lisa’s Gymnastics, 679 W. SR 130, Wheeler) said the girls were excited and overwhelmed by the accomplishment.
The All-Star Angels are looking to add some cheerleaders, each of whom will be able to participate in the rest of the competitive season.

Hanover baseball camp: Amid the busy build-up to Christmas, Hanover Central’s baseball players and coaches will offer youths the gift of sports knowledge and skills in a special one-day camp.
From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, varsity Wildcats players will provide one-on-one lessons and discussion on proper grip, stance and swing, along with proper throwing mechanics and fielding. The event is open to all area youths in grades 1 to 8. Space is limited to insure that each participant gets the most out of the camp.
All players will need to bring their own glove, batting gloves, and bat (if they have one). The Hanover athletic department will provide baseballs, helmets, and any other equipment needed for the day.
The fee for the camp is $20. Registration takes place before the camp at the Hanover Central High School fieldhouse. Checks will also be accepted this week by Wildcats varsity baseball coach Doug Nelson at Hanover Middle School or can be dropped off at the high school athletic office.
