The Hammond High Class of 1959 recently donated $1,707 to the Hammond Education Foundation through its Alumni & Friends of Hammond Schools group. The gift will be used to benefit Hammond High School via grants awarded to the school by the Hammond Education Foundation. Class members (from left) Jerry Pearson, Sally Saculla, Georgia Plantinga, Carole Barnes and Rich Barnes presented the donation. The HEF awards school and classroom grants in support of teaching and learning opportunities that go beyond the School of Hammond budget. Alumni & Friends of Hammond Schools recently was established as an outreach arm of the Hammond Education Foundation. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Purdue University Calumet in Room 305 of Lawshe Hall. | Supplied photo
